Coaster advertising can be an extremely effective advertising medium for local businesses whose clientele is primarily in the immediate area. It is cost effective and direct, potential clients are exposed to the advertising message without having to plough through telephone directories or classifieds.

Coaster designs are bold and eye-catching and with a single advertiser per coaster do not have to compete for the viewer’s attention.

AdConcept and ALH Group (Australian Leisure & Hospitality) have conceived a programme of coaster advertising within ALH owned establishments. This initiative is currently being implemented in a number of establishments in South East Queensland, with the ultimate goal of expanding to encompass all ALH venues throughout Australia - there are currently over 150 different ALH venues.

The coaster initiative is intended to help promote local businesses in each community.

 
 
 

This is an interactive form of advertising for the local patrons and the local business market. The coasters themselves hold the name of the hotel on the top of the drink coaster with “supports local business” at the bottom. The advertisement is the main focal point of the drink coaster.

 

Special offers such as “buy one get one free” and discounts encourage patrons to retain the coasters and redeem them, thereby giving businesses a clear indication of the response to the programme.

Hotels and taverns receive a wide spectrum clientele and reach many different types of clients, from businessmen to the general public. Each business is offered exclusivity within their field, so no competitor would be offered coaster advertising within the same area or venue.
